About the Author

Jean MeCurdy Meade

The retired Rector of Mount Olivet Episcopal Church in New Orleans, holds degrees from Agnes Scott College, Duke University, Notre Dame Seminary ( New Orleans,) and a PhD in Philosophy from Tulane University, where her dissertation was on ” “Aristotle, Aquinas, and Akrasia, or weakness of will.”
She has taught Religious Studies, English Literature, Philosophy, church music and choir in schools, colleges, churches, and seminary, including 20 years of teaching the Bible on REACH public access television in New Orleans.  She brings her love of music, art and architecture to her insights into how we express and live out our faith.
The mother of 4, step-mother of 1, grandmother of 10, she is married to Frederick Thomson and lives in San Antonio, her hometown, as well as New Orleans and Santa Fe.
